We've been doing experiential learning since our programs began. The Deans' Promise
Through the Deans’ Promise, we pledge to provide meaningful out-of-classroom experiences for all CAES students. This includes opportunities to participate in study abroad, undergraduate research, internships, service-learning and leadership roles.
Participants in CAES study abroad programs can receive a cash stipend. We can also help students find other sources of travel scholarships and aid.
CAES provides students with unique study abroad opportunities designed to offer life-changing international experiences.
Studying abroad will immerse you in a new culture, broadening your perspective of the world. When participating in one of our programs, you will go beyond the classroom as you enjoy formative experiences through hands-on learning. You will visit historic sites, meet new people, eat exotic foods and create lasting memories — all while taking courses that apply toward your degree.
UGA and CAES provide a multitude of study abroad options, from two-week adventures to semester-long exchange programs. Don’t let these opportunities pass you by!

Free academic counseling is only a phone call away.
When tutoring just isn’t enough, you can visit with the CAES academic counselor. We are the only college on campus that offers dedicated academic counseling.

CAES has a two-tiered advising system.
Our students are assigned to both a professional academic adviser and a faculty mentor when they enter the college. Our advisers take the time to get to know you beyond your class schedule. This comes in handy when you look for a job, need a letter of recommendation or want life advice. In fact, ten of the last 15 UGA Faculty Advisers of the Year have been from CAES.
